Sample classes — fictional rules for this preview. These are not official 4Way Speedway requirements. Confirm the real classes and rules with the track before buying parts or entering a race.

Rookie Runabouts

Your first laps belong here. Learn the line, meet the wall less often, and find your race-night rhythm. Requirements: - Beginner drivers only; ask the race director before moving up. - 1/10-scale 2WD electric car or truck. - Brushed motor or 21.5T brushless motor in blinky mode. - Maximum 2S LiPo battery; charge in an appropriate protective bag. - Secure battery, covered gears, and a body with a readable race number.

Street Stock

Stock-car looks, close racing, and plenty of extremely convincing explanations afterward. Requirements: - 1/10-scale 2WD electric chassis with a full-fender stock-car body. - 17.5T brushless motor; ESC in blinky mode with no boost or turbo. - Maximum 2S LiPo battery. - Rubber dirt-oval tires; no foam tires in this sample class. - Minimum ready-to-race weight: 1,500 grams. - Readable race numbers on both doors and the roof.

Spec Sprint

Open wheels, a wing, and a very small margin for optimistic steering. Requirements: - 1/10-scale 2WD sprint-car chassis with cage and top wing. - 13.5T brushless motor; ESC in blinky mode. - Maximum 2S LiPo battery. - Rubber dirt-oval tires. - Minimum ready-to-race weight: 1,450 grams. - Secure wing mounts and a clearly visible race number.

Open Modified

For experienced racers whose setup notebooks have developed a table of contents. Requirements: - 1/10-scale 2WD dirt-oval modified chassis and body. - Open motor timing and motor turn count in this sample class. - Maximum 2S LiPo battery. - Rubber dirt-oval tires; no exposed sharp body edges. - Minimum ready-to-race weight: 1,500 grams. - Race-director approval required for first-time entrants.
